To delete old retweets, open TweetDeleter and click on the “Sign in with Twitter” button
In the pop-up window, sign-in with the Twitter account in which you want to delete your old retweets. On the next page, click on the “Authorize app” button. With that, TweetDeleter can access data from your Twitter account. You can check out all the information TweetDeleter can collect from Twitter before authorizing it. Anyhow, this data is used to provide tools that can be helpful to you and TweetDeleter doesn’t access any of your direct messages.
Once authorized, you will be redirected to the home page of TweetDeleter. This tool is normally used to delete all tweets. But your delete only retweets by filtering them. To filter only retweets, click on the “Type” option in the left side menu and enable the checkmark beside Retweets. This will refresh the feed and only shows you retweets.
You can click on the “select all tweets” checkmark at the top and click on the “Delete Tweets” button at the top right corner to delete all the retweets.
You can filter furthermore changes like the date to delete tweets only in that time period, media to delete retweets only which has photos, videos, links, etc.
With that, you can delete all retweets, delete only retweets that have different media or delete only retweets in a specific time period. Anyhow due to Twitter limitation, Tweet Deleter can only access your last 3,200 tweets. If you want to delete even older retweets, you can do that by uploading the archive to TweetDeleter.
Deleting Retweets by Uploading Archive
As said, TweetDeleter can only access your latest 3,200 tweets. So it cannot delete your old retweets past that. Anyhow, you can download the tweets data from twitter and upload them to TweetDeleter to access even your old Tweets. To download the Twitter archive of your account, Open Twitter > Click More > Settings and privacy > Account> Your Twitter data> type the password and click Confirm. Now, click on the Request archive button beside Twitter. It takes a few minutes to hours of time depending on the number of tweets and media you have in the data.
Once the archive download is ready, Twitter will send you a notification and link to your mail for you to download your data.
Once downloaded, you need to upload the data to TweetDeleter. To upload, open TweetDeleter and click on “Upload Archive” in the left sidebar.
Now click on the green “Upload” button at the top right corner. This will open the file manager, select the file you have downloaded and click on the “Open” button.
This will upload all your tweets data and you can filter the retweets and delete just like before. This process is slow and may take even days to delete all your tweets.
