Change the Order of the Lists
Earlier, you had to visit Google Calendar or other Google Drive apps on the web to access all of your tasks from the sidebar. But now you use the Google Assistant web app to access Google Tasks seamlessly. Here’s how.
- Open Google Tasks in your choice of browser.
- Click on the down arrow next to the name of the list to expand the drop-down menu.
- Now simply drag and drop the list up and down the list using your mouse.
- Simply click and hold the handle next to the list name to change the order in Google Tasks.
- Once you reach the desired place, drop the list there and it will stay there.
- Now for the next step, go to your mobile and launch Google Tasks on it.

Bonus: Change the Order of Items in a List
If you want to change the order of the items in a list in the Google Tasks app, Google Tasks also allows you to do so. The best part is that you don’t need to visit the web version of Google Tasks. Here are the simple steps to follow.
- Navigate to the Google Tasks app and tap to open it.
- Press and hold the item that you want to move in the list.
- Now move the item up or down according to your preference.
- Once done, leave and drop the item at the desired place.
- (Additional Step) You can even indent the item to the other task by moving it slightly right below a task. Here is a sample of the edited and rearranged items in the list.
