Nvidia GeForce RTX 3080 Specs Leaks, Pricing, Release Date
Recent fresh leaked picture snapshot from Chiphell forum indicates that future flagship RTX 3080 monster GPU will likely be using the blower-style cooler for reference cards. Anyway, take this leak with a pinch of salt, sometimes, people make their own cooler and attach to current-gen GPUs as a result claiming the publicity.
Nvidia GeForce RTX 3080 Release Date
The RTX 3080 could be revealed as soon as August 2020, with a September release to follow. A late summer reveal would follow in the footsteps of the RTX 2080 series, which was unveiled in August 2018 and sold shortly after. The RTX 20 Super series was released in July 2019. Given these timeframes, it isn’t unreasonable to expect the RTX 3080 (and potentially RTX 3070 and RTX 3080 Ti) to launch by summer 2020. However, it’s possible that the coronavirus pandemic has delayed the production of the RTX 3080 to later in the year.
Nvidia GeForce RTX 3080 Price
Based on historical pricing, we don’t expect the GeForce RYX 3080 or its siblings to come cheap. The RTX 2080 Super currently carries an MSRP of $699, with the 2080 Ti going for around $1,199. On the lower end of Nvidia’s current line, the RTX 2060 starts at $299, with the RTX 2070 going for $599. However, rumor suggests that the RTX 30-series cards could be more affordable than their predecessors. Nvidia may use Samsung’s 7nm extreme ultraviolet lightography (EUV) process for manufacturing their new cards, which would allow the RTX 3080 to both offer better performance than previous generations while also making the GPU cheaper to produce.
Nvidia GeForce RTX 3080 Specs
While we don’t have the specs of the RTX 3080 just yet, we do know it will be based on Nvidia’s Ampere graphics technology. according to Nvidia, Ampere is the “largest[7nm] chip ever built” and is built for better AI performance and a speedy 1.6TB per second of memory bandwidth. A list of rumored specs has popped up on Twitter account KittyCorgi pointing to potential RTX 3080 and 3070 models that would be a big step up from their predecessors.
